The Onion has announced its transformation to online-only, and is scheduled to publish the last print edition of the satirical newspaper on Dec. 12. The Onion debuted online in 1996, and in 2007 it launched The Onion News Network. This year the publication celebrates its 25th anniversary. He was previously the editorial creative director for Conde Nast Traveler, and before that served as editor in chief at The Observer from 1994 to 2009.

The Pitchfork Review, a new music magazine from Pitchfork Media Inc., will launch on Dec. 14. The publication will explore the independent music world while documenting music culture, past and present. It will combine long-form feature stories, photography, illustrations and other ephemera with selected features from the Pitchfork website. About two-thirds of the content will be original, with the rest re-purposed from Pitchfork’s site. You can follow the magazine before its release on Twitter and Facebook.
