Forbes ups publisher, VP

Meredith Levien has been promoted to senior vice president and group publisher of Forbes, ForbesLife and ForbesWoman. She previously was vice president and group publisher since March 2008. Before that, she served as publisher of the now-defunct 02138 magazine, a post she held since joining the publication in June 2006. Political staff at NYT shifts roles, reporter joins paper

Adam Nagourney, currently chief political correspondent at The New York Times, is moving this summer to the paper's Los Angeles bureau, where he'll take over as bureau chief.  Other changes effective this summer at The Times include Jeff Zeleny, currently White House reporter, becoming lead political reporter; Jim Rutenberg, investigative projects reporter becoming investigative political reporter; and Matt Bai, currently politics writer for The New York Times Magazine, becoming a political columnist for the paper. Joseph Plambeck is a new addition to the paper and joined as a reporter covering media and the music industry as well as a blogger for Media Decoder. Small business senior editor, blogger gone from BusinessWeek

Kimberly Weisul is no longer with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, where she was the small business senior editor and blogger at New Entrepreneur. Her departure coincides with the March 2010 layoffs at Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which The Navigator previously reported. McCarthy to depart WWD and W

Editorial director Patrick McCarthy will step down from Conde Nast's Fairchild Fashion Group at the end of the year, where he oversees Women's Wear Daily and W. The Fairchild Fashion Group produces trade-focused fashion publications, including the various affiliates of WWD. Conde Nast has also announced that W, where McCarthy had served as de facto editor, will be moved into the consumer magazines group, officially separating the staff of Women's Wear Daily and W. Washington Post to launch business magazine

Capital Business is a new weekly magazine launching in April from The Washington Post that will cover the business community in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. Dan Beyers serves as editor. The Hill loses Sandler to AP

Michael Sandler is departing his position as an associate editor with The Hill in order to join the Associated Press' Washington, D.C., bureau on Apr. 14 as an economy editor. He joined The Hill in 2007 and previously served as a staff writer for the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times, amongst other roles.
