Editorial director Patrick McCarthy will step down from Conde Nast's Fairchild Fashion Group at the end of the year, where he oversees Women's Wear Daily and W. Conde Nast has also announced that W, where McCarthy had served as de facto editor, will be moved into the consumer magazines group, officially separating the staff of Women's Wear Daily and W.
