After the departure of Richard Roeper, Roger Ebert has also stated that he will not return to At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper. Disney followed up with the announcement that Ben Lyons and Ben Mankiewicz will replace Roeper and Ebert as the co-hosts of At the Movies starting the weekend of Sept. 6. Lyons is best known for his work as E! Entertainment's resident film expert. Lyons has also been featured on Good Morning America, MTV's Your Movie Show, MSNBC at the Movies and Access Hollywood. Richard Roeper is set to leave his position at Ebert & Roeper in mid-August. He has been co-host of the show for eight years, ever since he was selected in 2000 to be the permanent replacement for Gene Siskel, who died in 1999. Roeper has contributed to a number of radio and television shows, and is also a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. He cited the failure to reach an agreement with Disney-ABC Domestic Television on a new contract as his reason for departure.
